Wireless connectivity enables mobility and increases employee productivity with lower capital investments. Unfortunately, it also opens doors for intruders and unwanted visitors to easily access networks if proper precautions and tools are not employed to protect them. Plant managers must be assured that they will see the same level of control and security demonstrated in wired LANs, otherwise deploying wireless technology can be a risky business. This paper outlines best practices for securing industrial wireless networks and solutions.
