Calibrated Space-Mapping Approach for the Design of SIW Filters
An efficient approach for the design of Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) filters is presented in this paper. The proposed design approach is based on the combined use of equivalent circuit models of SIW discontinuities and the spacemapping optimization. A "Calibration" of the space mapping permits to design inline SIW filters with several poles without performing any full-wave analyses of the complete structure. The effectiveness of the proposed design technique is proved through an example. The development of Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) technology has opened new perspectives for circuits and systems in the microwave and millimeter-wave frequency range.
