Channel Assignment Algorithms for MRMC Wireless Mesh Networks
The wireless mesh networks are considered as one of the vital elements in today's converged networks, providing high bandwidth and connectivity over large geographical areas. Mesh routers equipped with multiple radios can significantly overcome the capacity problem and increase the aggregate throughput of the network where single radio nodes suffer from performance degradation. Moreover, the market availability of cheap radios or network interfaces also makes multi-radio solutions more feasible. A key issue in such networks is how to efficiently design a channel assignment scheme that utilizes the available channels as well as increases overall performance of the network.
