Medicinal plants are nature's wonderful gift to the mankind. The relationship between the human beings and the plants is as old as the history of the mankind itself. Since time immemorial, human beings have been utilizing plants for basic curative health care. The World Health Organization (WHO) has listed over 21,000 species (including synonyms) that have been reported for medicinal uses around the world. Moreover, it estimates that more than 80 percent of the world's population relies on traditional health care.
