Executive Summary

With the proliferation of inexpensive broadband connections, video streaming services over the Internet are growing rapidly. Delivering video over wireless networks is a challenging task, especially when high definition is required, due to its high bit rate, delay, and loss sensitivity. This paper presents a modified slicing scheme that can provide in-frame packet prioritization integrated with a cloud assisted video delivering strategy. The cloud assisted video delivery dynamically distributes video contents to subscribers over multiple routing paths. Based on the unequal importance of different regions within a frame in the presence of cyclic intra refresh lines the new scheme is proposed. The proposed system uses the computation power and numerous storage of a cloud.
