CMS (Content Management System) has been used in many companies, especially which provides contents services. As e-Business becomes popular and has grown fast, more assets turn into the digital forms so that CMS is invented to manage the digital content specially. However, since the concept of CMS is still new, people including developers and computer scientists are still confused with the concept of CMS and how it differs from DataBase Management System (DBMS). To resolve this issue, the paper illustrates CMS clearly by comparing it to DBMS in many aspects. Then, it compares Lenya and Jackrabbit as the open source Apache CMSs. Finally, the recommended usage of CMS with DB in the legacy e-Business architecture is presented.
