Collaborative Intrusion Detection System (CIDS) for Application-Specific Ad Hoc Networks
Mobile Ad-hoc NETworks (MANETs) are widely implemented in the modern technology with application specific orientations. However, security measures impose major challenges to efficient implementation of MANETs. This paper introduces a two stage Intrusion Detection System (IDS) for MANETs. It implements an anomaly-based intrusion detection approach by analyzing the context from application-level interactions of nodes in the ad-hoc network, where each interaction refers to a specific function or operational behavior of a node within the network. Here, the behaviors of a node are determined statically offline and then, these behaviors are observed dynamically during the operation of the network.
