Comics on the Internet

This white paper will examine the business of comics publishing and the effects of the Internet, current and potential, on this industry. Currently, the comic book publishing industry is trying to pull out of a depressed market, where it has fallen for the past few years. While the early to mid-90s saw individual issues of comic books with circulations approaching one million copies, and once in a blue moon exceeding that figure. Part of the problem, a result of the decreased interest, has been the closing of a large number of the specialty stores where comic books are sold.
