Companies Proudly Describe Their ~Compact~ Achievements At Notre Dame Conference
Coca-Cola is giving Haitian farmers advice on how to grow mangos for Coke's Odwalla-brand Mango Tango smoothies. Alcoa is bringing potable water, hospitals and schools to an Amazon rain forest community where the company plans to mine bauxite for 80 years. Those are two examples of how signatories to the United Nations Global Compact are doing well while doing well financially. They talked about their successes at a major conference held earlier this month at the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business.
