Executive Summary

An ad-hoc network is the cooperative engagement of a collection of mobile hosts without the required intervention of any centralized access point. In this paper, the authors present an innovative design for the operation of such ad-hoc networks. The design of efficient routing protocols is a fundamental problem in a Mobile Ad-Hoc NETwork (MANET). Many different protocols have been proposed in the literature, each one based on different characteristics and properties. Some of these protocols have been studied and their performances have been evaluated in detail -focusing on aspects like transmission energy, receiving energy at different pause time.
