Comparative Performance Studies of Arrow Shaped and Trisul Shaped Slotted Square Patch Antenna

In this paper, the authors present reports on the simulation studies of micro strip arrow and trisul shaped slotted patch antenna with respect to conventional square patch. The antennas have been designed for 2-8GHz frequency band. Roger ultralum with dielectric constant of 2.5 has been chosen as substrate. The feed locations of (4.05, 0) and (10.5, 0) are the optimized values for arrow shaped and trisul shaped slot respectively. It has been observed that the BW, gain and directivity increased slightly in the case of trisul shaped slotted patch at particular resonant frequency and radiation efficiency remains constant in all cases.
