Comprehensive Study of Routing Protocols and Power Saving in Cluster Based AODV-ERS Protocol
Wireless adhoc networks are a new type of wireless network which can communicate to each other without infrastructure base stations. Battery power is a vital resource in ad hoc networks. In ad hoc networks, energy consumption does not reveal the communication activities in the network. However, due to restricted power, routing path is broken easily, so how to design an effective power saving routing protocol is an important issue in wireless ad hoc networks. In this paper, the authors give a brief overview of various routing protocols and also compare the clustering based power saving Directional Local Repairing (DLR)method with AODV-ERS protocol with respect to power consumption and number of dead nodes.
