In the resource allocation scheme of WiMAX IEEE 802.16 networks, the uplink bandwidth of a Subscriber Station (SS) should be able to deliver all traffic from itself and its children, without causing interference. In this paper, the authors propose a centralized resource allocation scheme which considers congestion, interference, and fairness as its main objectives. In order to avoid congestion, they impose the parent of the SS to increase its uplink bandwidth by a specific ratio, which depends on the service class of the flows. To avoid interference during the resource allocation, the scheduling module allocates time slots to SSs in each frame so that the transmissions of nearby SSs will not cause collision, and global fairness among SSs can be maintained.
