As the saying goes "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail". This is so true in CRM strategy deployment. A survey in 2001 by Accenture and Wirthlin Worldwide queries Fortune 1000 executives and found 74 percent felt that CRM fails due to flawed planning. Failures were largely due to overemphasis on technology planning and not business planning since it is viewed as a technology project instead of a CRM strategy deployment. Like all major business initiatives it is important to have a plan before deploying the strategy.
