In this paper, the authors propose an adaptive cross layer technique that can optimally enhance the robustness and efficiency of QoS video transmission. The proposed optimization algorithm takes into account both limitations in wireless network and video streaming properties by incorporating two analytical models which are video distortion model and DTMC channel estimation model. The first model predicts the video quality in term of average PSNR of all decoded video frames. The second model can estimate the channel throughput and packet loss rates of each MAC layers queue which is the input to the first model.
