Executive Summary

Data mining is the task of extracting knowledge from large amount of data. While applying various data mining algorithms to the data it is necessary to preserve the privacy of an individual. Due to privacy concern collecting data from different parties become difficult. The problem of privacy is very common when the databases are multi-relational. In multi-relational databases re-identification can be applied to extract identity of particular individual. So, maintaining privacy regulations in multi-relational databases is the challenge. Privacy Preserving Data Mining (PPDM) is the new area in knowledge discovery that uses various protocols and methods. In this paper a Data collection protocol is used along with the privacy preserving data mining method i.e., k-anonymity in multi-relational financial databases.
