Data Rate Comparison During Handoff in GSM With Wireless ATM Networks
Wireless GSM has emerged as an important component of the broadband wireless network infrastructure. While GSM supports for different traffic characteristics and QOS requirements, WATM networks provide wireless extension to the ATM-based B-ISDN networks by adding mobility support functions. The implementation of WATM poses several problems like mobility management, radio access to network etc. This paper presents the literature survey of GSM and its handoff related issues. Handoff is basically related with GSM so that the authors can understand the required bandwidth and data rate. These parameters are compared with traditional and advance data rate bandwidth.
