Database as a Service: Reference Architecture - An Overview

In this paper, the concept of Database as a Service is introduced and defined. Further sections elaborate on the benefits and opportunities of implementing a DBaaS strategy. Enterprise architecture principles and views building upon the Oracle Enterprise Architecture Framework (OEAF) are discussed and examples are provided to illustrate many of the underlying concepts. In this brief paper, however, it is not possible to provide a complete discussion of all of the architectural principles, strategies, issues and considerations.
