Decision-Directed Scheme for Error Compensation in Signal Detection of MIMO-OFDM Systems

A novel Decision-Directed (DD) scheme for error compensation in signal detection of Multi-Input-Multi-Output Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems with the enhanced Vertical Bell Labs layered Space-Time (V-BLAST) scheme is developed. By making use of the optimal gain obtained by minimizing the error covariance function, the decision signal is modified to mitigate decision errors caused by error propagation and hence achieve the goal of improving system performance. Simulations of the enhanced V-BLAST with the proposed scheme are performed, and results are compared with that with the Iterative Detect and Decoding (IDD) approach.
