Design and Performance Evaluation of a New Irregular Fault-Tolerant Multistage Interconnection Network
Inter-connecting processors and linking them efficiently to the memory modules in a parallel computer is not an easy task. Hence, an interconnection network that provides the desired connectivity and performance at minimum cost is required. The design of a suitable interconnection network for inter-processor communication is one of the key issues of the system performance. The reliability of these networks and their ability to continue operating despite failures are major concerns in determining the overall system performance. In this paper a new irregular MIN named MASN (Modified Augmented Shuffle Exchange Network) has been proposed. The performance of MASN has been measured in terms of reliability and cost.
