Free registration required

Executive Summary

A Data Warehouse (DW) is an integrated and time varying collection of data derived from operational data and primarily used in strategic decision making by means of On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools. Data warehousing and OLAP technologies are now considered mature. Current research has lead to new developments in all aspects of data warehousing. MultiDimensional (MD) modeling is the foundation of data warehouses, multidimensional databases, and OLAP applications. In the past, several approaches has been proposed to easily capture main MD properties at the conceptual level providing their own notations, In this paper, the authors propose the UML based approach to represent main structural and dynamic properties at the conceptual level.
