Detection of Colluding Selective Forwarding Nodes in Wireless Mesh Networks Based on Channel Aware Detection Algorithm
In this paper, the authors consider selective forwarding attacks in Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) when malicious nodes act in collusion. The malicious nodes together create forged packets to attack and selectively drop, route or inspect network traffic. This type of selective forwarding is very difficult to defend against. The attacks so far considered have mainly focused upon an error free wireless channel and independent selective forwarding nodes. This method of detection consists of two phases. This deals with the detection of independent selective dropping attack nodes.
