Digital Video Broadcasting-T2: Multiple Input Multiple Output Configuration

This paper explores the possibility of implementing multiple antennas at the transmission side with multiple receiving antennas which is technically called as Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) configuration. Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial Second generation (DVB-T2) is chosen as a potential digital signal broadcasting technology for the above. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) scheme used in this project with Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) as the modulation technique at the transmission side. Alamouti scheme is a key technique implementing such a design. The receiver contains a Maximum Likelihood Detector for detecting the transmitted signal and the demodulator following it. The bit error rate of the received signal is computed. The above is simulated in a MATLAB environment.
