Executive Summary

With advances in wireless communication and mobile positioning technologies, Location-Based Services (LBSs) have been gaining increasingly popularity in recent years. Research efforts have been put into investigating how to preserve the privacy of mobile users, while still ensuring high quality of LBSs. In general, there are two types of privacy issues: location privacy (a sensitive location is protected from being linked to a specific user) and query privacy (a query is protected from being linked to a specific user).
