Single user MIMO systems have been widely studied in the wireless communications literature because of the significant gain provided in term of capacity over single antenna links. More interestingly, this gain is independent of whether the Channel State Information (CSI) is available at the transmitter or not. In the multiuser downlink context with M transmit antennas at the transmitter and K single antenna users, the situation is considerably different. The sum capacity of the Broadcast Channel (BC) depends largely on the availability of CSI at the transmitter side.
