Dynamic Data Gathering Protocol in Wireless Sensor Networks
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of small nodes with sensing, computation, and wireless communications capabilities. Recent advances in wireless communications technology and micro-electro mechanical systems have enabled the development of low cost, low power, network-enabled, and multifunctional micro sensors. The potential applications of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) span a wide spectrum in various domains, due to their ease of deployment, re-liability, scalability, flexibility, and self-organization. Generally there are three models of WSN: time, on-demand and event driven. In this paper, the authors propose a hybrid data-gathering protocol which uses the advantages of both the event-driven and time-driven data-reporting schemes.
