T he secure embedded management interface project is being conducted at the Stanford Security Lab. Its objective is to assess the state of the art of embedded management interfaces and develop more secure solutions. This paper summarizes the result of the first part of project: the assessment of the security of current embedded management interfaces. Its results will be used in the second part of the project as a foundation to build more secure management interfaces. The Security Lab is a part of the Computer Science Department at Stanford University. Research projects in the group focus on various aspects of network and computer security.
