Executive Summary

Energy consumption is one of the most important parameters for evaluation of a scheme proposed for WSNs because of their resource constraint nature. Comprehensive comparative analysis of proposed reputation-based trust management schemes of WSNs from this perspective is currently not available in the literature. In this paper, the authors have filled this gap by first proposing Generic Communication Protocol (GCP) that is used to exchange trust values. Based on this proposed GCP protocol, they have presented a theoretical energy consumption analysis and evaluation of three state-of-the-art reputation-based trust management schemes of WSNs.
