Energy-Saving in Wireless Sensor Networks Considering Mobile Sensor Nodes

Event detection is a major issue for applications of wireless sensor networks. In order to detect an event, a sensor network has to identify which application-specific incident has occurred based on the raw data gathered by individual sensor nodes. Sensor networks are sensing, computing and communication infrastructures that are able to observe and respond to phenomena in the natural environment and in the physical and cyber infrastructure. In this paper, the authors propose a sensor network with mobile and static sensor nodes. They investigate how the sensor network performs in the case when the sensor nodes move. They compare the simulation results for two cases: the sensor network with stationary sensor nodes and multi mobile sensor nodes.
