Enhanced Expanding Ring Search Algorithm for AODV
A wireless Ad Hoc network is a collection of mobile nodes that form a dynamic, autonomous network. Nodes communicate with each other without depending on any infrastructure (e.g. access points or base stations). Hence, in these networks each node acts as a host and as a router. Reactive routing protocols like AODV and DSR uses Expanding ring search algorithm for route discovery in MANET. This paper presents enhancement in basic TTL sequence based ERS. This results into faster route discovery, lesser routing traffic and efficient energy operation in MANET. The authors have considered circular network area with equal node density in entire network. Source and destination nodes are randomly distributed.
