Evaluating Efficacy of Forward Error Correction Coding

Packet level transport service is provided by representative packet-switched networks, including IP networks, but is not reliable and the Quality-of-Service (QoS) cannot be guaranteed. In this paper the authors are going to evaluate the efficacy of FEC coding. To evaluate it they are going to transfer data from Source to Destination. Before receiving the data in the Destination they create packet loss in Queue. Thus after creating packet loss, they receive the remaining packets in the Destination. Then they recover the lost Packets in the Destination and evaluate FEC's performance.
