Executive Summary

The proliferation of hotspots is fuelling a need for extensibility and differentiation in network services that are provided. To best facilitate the implementation of source-level customisable services, a modularized hotspot management system, named SEHS, has been proposed that will provide interface hooks to connect the different service modules or network management modules. This paper also presents an evaluative study of the requirements and features for small, easily deployable hotspot management systems.
