Evaluation of the Feasibility of Using Fuel Cells in Passenger Cars
This paper was conceived to evaluate the commercial prospects for fuel cell powered passenger cars in the UK, over the time-frame to 2010. It is widely acknowledged that the passenger car is a major contributor to air pollution, both in locally in urban areas and globally, with atmospheric pollution leading to global warming. Car ownership has been predicted to grow steadily over the coming years, increasing the problem. Car manufacturers have been researching and developing various new technologies that will provide reductions in emissions. One of the most promising technologies over the past few years has been the development of fuel cells for automotive applications.
