Executive Summary

Internet is evolving from a network of computers to a network of devices. HTML5 Web Sockets will single handedly revolutionize web technologies as the authors know it. The purpose of this paper is to explain what techniques have been used to simulate server push until now, define HTML5 web sockets, and then give an example of how to use it in WSN. HTTP functions as a request-response protocol in the client-server computing model. In HTTP, a browser acts as a client, while an application running on a computer hosting a web site functions as a server. The client submits an HTTP request message to the server.
