Wireless sensor networks consist of several sensor nodes. These networks have vast application in environment monitoring, failure management and security, etc. Wireless sensor nodes are extremely small in size and have partial processing capability with very low running power. This constraint of low running power makes the sensor network error prone. Data aggregation is possibly effective technique in this case because it lowers the number of packets to be sent to descend by aggregating the similar packets. In this paper, the authors explore different data aggregation algorithms in wireless sensor network on the basis of network topology, and then they emphasize security issues in data aggregation.
