Biometric recognition refers to an automatic recognition of individuals based on a feature vectors derived from their physiological and/or behavioral characteristic. Among the various biometric methods, face recognition has become one of the most challenging tasks in the pattern recognition field in the past decades. Probably it is the most common biometric characteristic used by humans. Face recognition is very important for many applications such as: video surveillance, criminal investigations and forensic applications, secure electronic banking, mobile phones, credit cards, secure access to buildings. For identifying individual in international traffic points, in access control and in many other fields it is very useful.
