Face recognition is a task humans perform remarkably easily and successfully. This apparent simplicity was shown to be dangerously misleading as the automatic face recognition seems to be a problem that is still far from solved. Face recognition is one of the few biometric methods that possess the merits of both high accuracy and low intrusiveness. It has the accuracy of a physiological approach without being intrusive. The authors in this paper present a novel approach for accurate face recognition using PCA as Eigen value along with histogram equalization. The efficiency of the system is far better than present systems.
