Fuzzy Based Rate Control Algorithm for End-to-End Congestion Control in Internet
In real time environment, the problems of unpredictable bandwidth, end-to-end delay and packet loss can affect video streaming over the Internet. The performance of rate adaptive multimedia streaming applications is impacted by the accuracy of determining the level of network congestion and by the control mechanism used to adjust the sending rate as per the available network bandwidth. In this paper, the authors propose a Fuzzy based end-to-end congestion control algorithm by predicting the end-to-end loss and delay in the network. In their algorithm, they implement Fuzzy logic for rate adjustment based on end to end loss and delay at the receiver. By simulation results, they show that their proposed algorithm attains better results when compared with the existing works.
