Generalized Phase Spatial Shift Keying Modulation for MIMO Channels

In this paper, a Generalized Phase Spatial Shift Keying (GPSSK) modulation is introduced as an improvement of the Generalized Space Shift Keying (GSSK) modulation which lays the concept of using the antenna indices to convey information. The idea behind the proposed scheme is to map the bit vector corresponding to one symbol in two information bit blocks: the first block selects the antennas used during the transmission and the second block chooses the transmitted symbols, which are distinguished by their phases. The receiver estimates the indices of the active antennas and the transmitted signal which are used to de-map the block of information bits.
