GreenCloud: A New Architecture for Green Data Center
With the change in environmental conditions, researches are trying to find cost-effective solutions that can reduce consumption of power in data centers. Discussed in this paper is GreenCloud architecture, which is designed to provide quality performance with a low rate of power consumption. This architecture discussed in the paper enables online-monitoring, live virtual machine migration, and VM placement optimization. It is a cost effective solution that is designed to reduce and save up to 27% of energy. The paper talks about cloud computing, which is a distribution system that works on a collection of interconnected and virtualized computers. This technology provides access to applications and data from a single point. GreenCloud is an Internet Data Card that is designed to reduce data center power consumption while saving energy for performance-sensitive applications in real time. It can automatically schedule decisions on migrating Virtual Machines among physical servers. This paper talks in detail about GreenCloud architecture and its performance in data centers. It also provides state-of-the-art power management solutions and virtualization technologies for Internet Data Centers. Under computing environment, the GreenCloud is designed to achieve performance goals while saving energy resources and costs. How GreenCloud architecture is useful in saving energy and power resources is what this paper discusses.
