Accenture recently completed research on the physical retail channels of mobile network operators serving the United Kingdom (UK) market. The research objectives were to understand the current state of the channel along a number of key dimensions; test some forward-looking hypotheses Accenture had developed about the role of the retail channel in mobile operators' strategies and how the channel might evolve in the next five years; and provide some guidance on capabilities operators should consider building to improve the performance and overall financial contribution of their retail operations.
