Heterogenous Networks Architectures and Their Security Weaknesses

In recent years the wireless communication networks combined with the wired networks have made tremendous progress with both the upgrade of cellular networks to support wide area data access and the widespread deployment of IEEE 802.11 based local area networks. Although both wired and wireless provides advantages and disadvantages in their own unique way it is the integration of these networks that the authors can reap the real technological reward from both. Although there is extensive research ongoing on individual networks in isolation it is the combination of these networks where the information highway will be open to all and in this case the need for architecture that fulfills the demands of the users in all scenarios.
