How Prior Military Experience Influences The Future Militarized Behavior Of Leaders

This paper joins a growing number of studies that are moving beyond the question of simply whether leaders matter for international politics to examine the scope conditions under which leaders matter. This is not to say that structural and unit-level variables do not matter. The people should, however, take full advantage of insights from political psychologists and scholars outside of political science.
