Mentorship typically lasts for a few months, but can last for years or as long as the arrangement continues to assist you in developing your EQ. Mentoring relationships don't always have hard-and-fast endpoints. Typically the need to meet becomes progressively less frequent and the conversations morph into friendly exchanges rather than formal mentoring. You might never exhaust what you can learn from a mentor. This is because developing your EQ is a lifelong process. A mentor's perspective can continue to be useful as you face new challenges. If you're approaching situations exactly how your mentor would, it's likely your conversations will become unnecessary.
