IBM Database Reference Architecture for Microsoft SQL Server on System X

SQL Server is a key workload supporting many enterprise applications. The IBM Database Reference Architecture for Microsoft SQL Server on System x is designed to provide a flexible, cost effective platform for consolidating general purpose SQL Server workloads and small data warehousing needs. The solution is built around a cluster of IBM System x servers for both storage and compute nodes, providing inherent redundancy for critical SQL Server workloads while taking advantage of the latest storage components. Storage is mirrored across two storage nodes for availability and physical and virtual compute nodes are clustered for SQL server availability and workload distribution.
