Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has been a successful technique combating the frequency-selective channels. Since subcarriers in OFDM systems are orthogonal inherently, the Frequency-Division Multiple Access (FDMA) can be directly applied. This is generally referred to as the OFDMA system. In high-mobility environments, the channel may vary in an OFDM symbol period. As a result, the orthogonality of subcarriers will be destroyed. Consequently, InterCarrier Interference (ICI) will occur, and the system performance will be degraded.
