One of the most difficult things to build in a corporate setting is a sense of cohesiveness and teamwork: how do you bring all these different people from various backgrounds together and turn them into a lean, mean, producing machine? In some cases, people are thrown together as the result of a corporate merger and may be distrustful and wary of their new colleagues. It's human nature in such instances to adopt an "US vs. THEM" mindset which is toxic to the success of the new relationship. There has to be a way to build trust among employees and open the lines of communication between them so that they are better able to work together and become as one.
