"Illegal" Interview Questions
Whether you've recently been promoted to a management role, or are a job seeker, chances are you've heard of the "Illegal" interview questions. New managers are warned not to ask any of the illegal questions, and candidates are advised to be on the look out and refuse to answer these questions. Unfortunately, this is a bit of a misnomer, as there are really no illegal questions. The potential illegality arises only in what is done with the answers. In other words, just asking someone where they're from is not illegal, but deciding not to hire them because they told you they're Hispanic is illegal.
