Executive Summary

An algorithm is proposed that computes the solution to the power control problem with closed-loop effects. Analytical and simulation results show that the algorithm converges under the same conditions as that given in the cited reference, while achieving a reduction in computational load in a wide range of conditions. DS-CDMA cellular network planning relies on system-level simulation of the radio interface, of which power control is a central aspect. A system-level model of power control consists in a set of equations expressing the condition that each user achieves a desired quality.
