Improved Caching Strategy for Concurrent Transaction Execution in Mobile Wireless Environment
Improved storage and processing capability of mobile handheld devices and qualitative data services of mobile networks enabled read write transactions, possible in mobile devices. Mobile transactions may utilize the data services provided by a data server connected to public packet data network. When mobile transactions access and manipulate the public data directly in the data server, the load on the network and data server increases. So, frequent data items are stored in a cache, to reduce network and server load and to improve response time. The proposed caching strategy stores the cache in the base station and ensures reduced transaction 'Restarts'. The proposed strategy also serializes the concurrent transactions with logical timestamps to ensure controlled concurrent access to the shared, cached data.
